Articles, newsletters, PDFs, books you've uploaded, video transcripts, tweet threads, and podcasts, each delivered as an EPUB your reader can open. (For a podcast, load its transcript in Readwise Reader first.)

Self-host it

Free and open source (MIT). Bring your own Readwise or Wallabag credentials; Later.Ink stores nothing. Run the prebuilt Docker image, pip install later-ink, or build from source; every path is one or two commands, then you add the catalog URL to your reader. The README quickstart walks through each.

Questions

Why OPDS?
It's the open standard e-reader apps use for browsing book catalogs, the same thing Project Gutenberg or Calibre serves. Your reader treats your article queue like any other bookshelf, so there's nothing to install or update.
Do you see my articles?
No. We keep no copy. Your articles are fetched from Readwise and turned into EPUBs on the fly, then streamed straight to your reader; nothing is stored on the server. On the hosted version, the only thing saved is your Readwise token, encrypted at rest and never logged. Self-host, and your credentials never leave your machine at all.
Other read-later services?
Wallabag works today, alongside Readwise Reader. The connector interface is three methods, so more are easy to add; Instapaper is on the roadmap, and contributions are welcome on GitHub.
